I’ve added links for the Seattle and Boston area IF groups, both of which meet roughly monthly (sometimes more often) to discuss IF, share works in progress, and generally cheer one another on. Are there others out there that I should be mentioning?
[ETA: some discussion in comments about getting a Bay Area meet going.]
I live/teach IF at two local universities in Omaha, NE. I’m trying to foster a (small) group centered around my students. Any tips or suggestions?
Is there something like this in the SF Bay Area?
Oooh. I just moved to the Boston area, and I had no idea this existed. Thanks :)
+1 Dan, I would love to find something like this.
I don’t know of anything in the Bay Area at the moment, but if multiple people want one, …
Here’s a third commenter interested in IF in the Bay Area!
Yet another Bay Area IFer would be interested!
Sounds like you have something approaching critical mass — generally what happens to get these things started is that someone starts a mailing list or similar venue to plan meetings, and then events are planned. So go for it, Bay Area IFers. (I’m not in town, so I can’t help you out there, but if you get something going I’d be happy to add it to my local groups list.)
OK, we’re finally getting things started!

Our first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, at 1pm. We’ll introduce ourselves, talk about what we’re playing and what we’re working on, and discuss our plans for world domination.
Venue TBD. (We need to figure out how many of us there will be and where we’ll meet.)
Thanks!
Oops, replied to main post instead of comment. Anyway – thanks Dan
This is exciting! Thanks for taking the initiative, Dan…
