About the “heavy-handed” bit — I think some of that might have been a well-considered strategy for the game considering its context: the IF comp. Rameses was the 18th of 51 games I was racing through in that 6-week judging period, and the only thing that clued me in to what it was doing *was* that free will conversation. Bond was walking a fine line, trying to be subtle but knowing that his players were going to be in triage mode — going quickly and playing with a fairly dismissive frame of mind.
